how do some people not look in every direction before crossing through an intersection or passing driveways. how do some people only look ahead. like, no shit people shouldn't run red lights and stop signs, and obviously you have the right of way through a protected green light or intersection where your lane doesn't stop and you shouldn't need to check the lanes you're crossing, but it's basic damn safety to do so. the number of t-bones that could be avoided if the person with the right of way took the extra oh-so-taxing single brain cell activation to practice basic situational awareness and look for danger... man. it's like being on foot walking out of a store and assuming the cars in a parking lot will stop for you as you cross the crosswalk. do you have the right of way, even without the presence of stop or yield signs for the vehicles? yes. would any sane person on the planet stop for you? of course. even knowing those things, is it still drilled into your head as a child to look both ways before crossing any vehicle path because plenty of shitheads don't follow the rules?
